Auger-Cast Piles

Image upload

Auger-Cast piles are constructed by rotating a continuous-flight, hollow-stem auger into the ground to a specified pile tip elevation, or until the refusal criteria are reached. A grout mixture is then pumped, under pressure, through the hollow stem and out of a port on the bit, as the auger is withdrawn in such a way as to exert a positive grout pressure on the soil surrounding the drilled hole.

Auger-Cast piles may be referred to by several other names or proprietary terms. Some common names are Auger Cast-In-Place (ACIP), Auger Pressure Grouted (APG), Continuous Flight Auger (CFA), Augerpile, Augered Grout Injected, Augered Uncased, and Uncased Cast-In-Place.
